Sonic Pilgrims is a site-responsive audio installation that places fragments of walking, memory, landscape and voice inside the overbuilt environment of Westfield Booragoon. Using geofenced sound, field recordings, music and impressionistic interview fragments, the work invites audiences to drift through zones of forest, coast, memory and dislocation as their movement triggers an unstable, shifting sound world. Below is a image of the geofenced map created in an early iteration of the installation - as well as some audio samples of the music created for the installation and the mixed field recordings of environments and fauna that form the bones of the piece.
